Personal comments
These guest solos were done on three different occasions. They just happened to end up on the same compilation.
Richard Hallebeek - Seasons
Everything went wrong on this date. I recorded this at the great engineer Ejnarsson’s place again. But it seemed that we had everything against us. First the computer crashed all the time. Then a key broke and my pitchbend stopped working so we had to midi connect my keyboard to another set of keys with a different touch, which made the sound different. Five hours later, after a few attempts of cutting and pasting solos together, I gave up and erased everything previously recorded.
It was getting late and I had to get it done that evening. The last five minutes before I had to go I played a solo in one take and that had to be it. It was the best I could do at the moment but I don’t feel that it sounds inspired.
Stefan Rosqvist - Neverland
I was talking to Stefan on the phone during the second day of the “State Of Mind” sessions and he asked me if I had any studio time left to record some piano for one of his songs.
He whistled the melody to Neverland and he said that I could do whatever I wanted with it, he didn’t even give me any specific key to play in. After a few “State Of Mind” takes I called him back and asked him to sing the melody again since I had some time left. I improvised over Stefan’s melody and I think it’s the first or second take that is on the album. To be honest I feel that I could have done it better, but under the circumstances I think it’s OK.
Magnus Olsson - Whatever It Might Be
I was hanging out at Magnus place and he was working with some drum programming for a tune. He asked me if I wanted to throw in a keyboard solo in the middle of the song.
I played a bass line over his drum programmings, threw in some nice changes and did a solo. Luckily I had my keyboard at his place so I got my own solo sound. I’m happy with the way Magnus mixed my solo, very in your face and just the way I like it. I feel that this solo has its inspired moments.

Personal comments
This was one of those magic moments in the studio. I went to my friend Andreas Ejnarsson’s studio in Helsingborg, Sweden. We had a cup of coffee, sound checked the keyboard, rehearsed a little, pressed record and then I played the solo that is on the CD. A first take. The whole session was over in less than half an hour. I sent the solo to Sebastiaan in Holland and he loved it. I’m happy with the way this solo turned out. A burst of inspiration.
